2013 ELYRICA SUMMER CHAMBER MUSIC PROGRAM
Now in its sixteenth year, the Elyrica Summer Music Program was founded and is run
by some of the leading instrumental instructors and performers on the East Coast.
The program offers intensive performance and educational opportunities in chamber
music for harp and flute. The Elyrica Summer Chamber Music Program will take
place in a beautiful school facility in Ridgefield, CT that is fully air conditioned, and is
open to students of all levels, age 8 to adult. Music is arranged individually for each
student’s level and ability. Students enjoy a variety of opportunities at the Elyrica
program, including harp orchestra, flute choir, small ensemble playing (duos, trios)
and instrumental classes. Elyrica also includes a number of different music
workshops. These classes will have a variety of themes such as: Instrumental
Performance Techniques, Rhythm Workshop, History of the Instrument, Stage
Presence and an Open Rehearsal by the Faculty.
Elyrica features a supportive, non-competitive environment, with great learning, and
a balance of challenge and fun. Music is arranged for each participant, tailored to
their specific level, and is sent out to each performer at the beginning of the summer.
Each Elyrica day will include a communal lunch and free time. On Friday afternoon,
after our pizza lunch, we will have a fun Talent Show where participants can show
everyone their non flute and harp skills! The program concludes with a gala concert
event that will include performances by student chamber groups as well as faculty
members. The gala final concert will take place at 3PM on Friday, July 19th, followed
by a grand reception.
Comments from past participants:
“ It was fun to meet new friends that can make music with me.”
“My music reading skills really improved, my posture, my sound and my intonation!”
“Always a worthwhile week!”
“Beautiful music – I really enjoyed the music selections & arrangements.”
“I really enjoyed the program. I want to come back next year.”

Look for “Elyrica Camp” on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube,
including a video from last year’s camp!
