Postdoctoral Research
• Design, synthesis and evaluation of peptidomimetics; targeting various diseases ranging from AIDS to cancer to neurodegenerative (Huntington’s and Alzheimer’s disease). • Designed and synthesized the first water folding b-sheet containing unnatural Hao amino acid. • Designed and synthesized the peptidomimetics with metal binding sites, which induces b-sheet formation and allows dimerizations via metal complexation. • Devised novel synthetic routes to the various peptidomimetics. • Determined b-sheet formation and b-sheet dimerization of peptidomimetics by NMR (1D, 2D, titration studies • Built the first Hao-containing combinatorial library synthesized in the Nowick lab, and initiated on bead receptor and protein binding assays.
