1. STOP: Blood thinners such as: Heparin®, Lovenox®, Pletal® (cilostazol), Jantoven®,Plavix®,Ticlid®, Coumadin®, Warfarin® and Persantine®.
Iron Supplements or Multivitamins with Iron. Herbal and Homeopathic supplements.
2. CONTINUE: All other medications that you normally take including Tylenol®, Celebrex®, and Mobic®. It is important to continue your medications for your heart, blood pressure, asthma, or other chronic medical conditions unless otherwise instructed by your physician. The day before your procedure______________________________ _____________________
1. Patients with Diabetes: Oral diabetic: Take half your normal dose. Insulin-dependent diabetic: Take half your normal dose. 2. Drink only clear liquids at breakfast, lunch, and dinner: water, apple juice, popsicles, Jello- O®, broth, black coffee, Gatorade®, tea, and soft drinks (no red or purple). You may use only lime, lemon, banana, pineapple or peach Jell-O® and popsicles. 3. No solid foods or milk products may be consumed. 4. Drink one bottle of lemon-lime flavored Magnesium Citrate at about 4pm 5. Mix the Colyte® or NuLytley® according to the directions on the container and chill it well. 6. At 5 pm, begin drinking 1 glass (8oz.) of solution every 10-15 minutes until you drink ½ gallon (64oz). It is important to drink the entire ½ gallon of Colyte®. Save the remaining ½ gallon for a second dose tomorrow. You may drink clear liquids until 2 hours before your procedure. No solid food.
