May cause eye irritation/sensitization May be harmful if swallowed, inhaled or
absorbed through the skin. May cause sensitization by skin contact. Toxic. Ingestion of very large amounts may cause gastrointestinal irritation. Cephalosporins and penicillins have similar chemical structures. Because of this, it is
believed that those individuals who are allergic to one class of compounds may show an increased risk of cross-allergenicity when a member of the other class is encountered.
